The History of International Sloth Day.
International Sloth Day was created by AIUNAU, since 1996 a non-profit foundation in Colombia dedicated to protecting all forms of wildlife – especially sloths, as every year many of them are injured or killed by cars and power lines, or captured to become household pets.

International Sloth Day was established in November 2010 as a way of helping people to know a little more about these shy, quiet creatures that are known for their tenderness, and keep them from going entirely extinct.

How to Celebrate International Sloth Day.
There are two main ways to participate to the International Sloth Day: 1) celebrate International Sloth Day allowing yourself to relax every now and then: learn to slow down and enjoy the little things in life; 2) help the sloths of South America and donate some money to the AIUNAU.

On International Sloth Day, take the time to slow down and realize that although we humans are clever and intelligent, that does not mean that there aren’t things we can’t learn from other species. And who could possibly teach a better lesson about how to relax than the sloth? Exactly!
